I was excited for this movie, even though I can't explain why. I won't give anything away, but I'll say this is a sequel that not many people were asking for, but those of us who are fans were really excited to see after almost 30 years, and that's where this movie let me down. I wasn't expecting an Oscar worthy piece of art, but they really should have stuck with the ending they had 29 years ago and made something new this time around. It was temporarily enjoyable, but almost instantly forgettable, I don't think with one will stand the test of time.

While not 'excellent' Bill & Ted return for a third adventure and take viewers along for a generally breezy, fun ride. Movies like this are like comfort food - they relax your brain, don't overstay their welcome (1h 30m run-time) and feature a totally adorable cast. Keanu and Winter blend like bread and butter, their bromistry still super strong and pleasant for all kinds of audiences. Directed by old-timer Dean Parisot, the film packs in elements of comedy, science fiction, kinship, and a sweet thread that revolves around uniting the world with music.
This time around, the detailing of character sketches goes beyond just Bill & Ted. Their daughters Thea & Billy, played by Samara Weaving and Bridgette Lundy-Paine, are thrown into the mix. Additionally, the wives go on a time-travel adventure of their own. While this makes the film a little overcrowded, the screenplay (by Chris Matheson & Ed Solomon) is able to strike a somewhat fine balance. The scenes where the daughters try to assemble the 'greatest band ever' from the past are often more amusing the scenes where Bill & Ted keep meeting their future selves. I think the best way to describe the brand of humor in the film would be. slightly repetitive, at times irreverent, but thoroughly enjoyable."
The film features a pretty solid soundtrack as well, with bangers from Weezer, Cold War Kids, and Lamb of God. The central dilemma of the film is about music and how it can make or break the world - I think that's something all of us can relate to.

Unlike the first two, which I am a huge fan of - this one is kind of disjointed. At least they didn't retcon is and make the leads women, nor did they PC or SJW the heck out of it.
